In the meantime remove and discard the stems of the kale keeping the leafy greens. Begin cooking pasta according to package instructions as the kale and tomatoes cook. Add pepper and garlic.
Put the cooked pasta in the cooking pot. Top with cheese and pine nuts. Stir in kale and tomatoes.
